Like, I work for a pest control company and a lot of my stops are checking termite traps outside customer houses, even if they're not home. But frequently I get neighbors of said houses coming out, getting aloof and asking me what I'm doing, taking photos of my car's plates, saying they're gonna call the cops, etc...

I get that they're looking out for themselves, but like, idk, I have a uniform and only work in the daytime, and most towns in this area have really low property-crime rates. Besides, I have red hair and my car is bright-green. I'd be the shittiest burglar on the planet considering how easy it is to identify me lol.

Wear the Red Hat of Light and maybe they will look the other way. The hat isn't the only thing you need, though.

Just depends, social engineering is the easiest thing In the world, I also live in a bad area and don't take kindly to anyone being near anything I own.

I work in hvac and Im honestly surprised how often I feel like I can walk damn near anywhere without anyone questioning it.

It's a worker/safari vest with the company logo embroidered on it, with a black polo shirt underneath that also has the logo, plus some Duluth work pants. No hat.

During the winter, I wear a larger down-filled vest over the withy vest, which, you guessed it, also has the logo embroidered on it lol.
