He was heading home from Mezcalaria La Milagrosa, a small bar hidden behind a deli in Brooklyn around 430am when a group of men approached him and asked for a cigarette. The bar owner said "They weren't looking for a cigarette. They were looking for a fight" as he wanted to remain anonymous After he said no, Zambrano's friends said the men began to TAUNT him before he verbally fired back at them and that's when the men circled the block and attacked him. They punched and flung him to the ground during the altercation Joshua Hernandez, the man who is part of the Latin Kings fatally struck him in the back of the head causing him to hit his head at a nearby metal gate A bartender who heard the attacked rushed to Zambrano and the gang bangers fled He was transported to hospital and was placed in intensive care where he died surrounded by loved ones days later... His relatives are from Venezuela, Houstin and Miami who rushed to his side as they mourned his passing Julie Pinero, his gf said "He was visited by upwards of 40 friends and family who came to support and pay respects each day" Hernandez, who plead NOT GUILTY to misdemeanor assault charge had his bail set at 20,000 and could face elevated charges. His mother cried as her son was taken back to police custody and yelled "Yo Yo, get the f* away,bro!" Growing up in NYC most people in gangs were either under age 15 or over 40 and either currently incarcerated or in and out.
