The HP Pavilion Gaming Laptops are usually on sale for like $600 and are pretty solid gaming machines. I have one and can run shit like Gears 5 at 1080p/60fps with no problems. I got it for about $700 though, but I see it under $600 online fairly often. Edit: if you go with one of these I highly recommend a cooling pad for it because it gets hot as fuck when gaming.
