How would you feel if the main three characters of the sequels were

1) Force user from Luke's Jedi Order
2) Someone important to Leia's Galactic Republic
3) Crew member on Han's Millennium Falcon

For example (if you want to keep Disney characters):

Rey. Padawan learner. Luke's newest apprentice.

Kylo Ren. Son of Han and Leia. Trained in the force, but followed Leia's/Padm's footsteps.

Finn or Poe Dameron or Rose Tico. Joined Han Solo's crew.

I like the ST, so far, but if I was going to re-write some stuff, none of the main characters would be related, or a part of, to any pre-existing characters or entities.

so no one related/connected to the Skywalkers, Palpatine, the Republic, the Rebels, etc.

How would you fit in the Skywalker overarching story of the main trilogy films?

why should it have to?

we've already dealt with the Skywalker storyline with the OT & the PT, and there should be a galaxy worth of stuff to explore.

George Lucas wanted to do a sequel trilogy back in the 80s. This would be the way to close the Skywalker saga out for good.

It sounds like you want to do a spin-off trilogy. I'm talking about actual sequels to the OT and PT. Meaning that the ST would be directly related.

Thinking of alternate ST titles to better mirror the OT and PT. Three word mystery. Military action. [Blank] of the [blank].

I'm kind of surprised how much i like rey and kylo since i wasn't confident they could come up with good new characters. Turns out they were my favorite part of TFA. Finn and Poe are ok, i wouldn't necessarily change who they are i just wish they were more interesting
