The hate is mostly because of how it was communicated.

Effectively the current situation is what it has always been at the start of a Gen, just with less guarantees of unavailable Pokmon becoming available through other means.

You could do that in Sun and Moon through S.O.S battles.

I was also railing on it before it was released. Now I get why all those pokemon were cut. It's the best pokemon game yet, I hope they build off of it.

...But they still could have hired more animators.

it is still fun but so many dumbass problems like why the fuck is the gts or an equivalent gone?
all there is now is wondertrade and linking with one rando to trade and you cant even see what they have or communicate with them so its basically wondertrade again

you actually cant trade for anything without a forum now

I like it a lot too.

I miss some things though, like the repel trick (but that was missing in SMUSUM too). I also hate TRs. Huge step back, but maybe I'll feel differently when I get deeper into training.

I think SwSh are fine... for 3DS games. But the move from handheld to console brings... expectations, and the games didnt live up to it.

This fundamentally feels like the 3DS games. From the lag spikes, to the monotonous camera angles during battle that really REALLY should zoom out a little bit. The actual animations being lifeless (in most cases) adds fuel to the fire. And the Wild Area is easily the worst part of the game, and is a HUGE waste of potential.

But the games sold really well, so it looks like this is what were going to get for the foreseeable future *shrugs*

I dont understand why it being a Pokemon game has anything to do with it. If anything, the bar should be higher. This is THE highest grossing media franchise on the planet, on a console with games like Xenoblade 2 and Zelda BotW. But I guess fuck me for expecting more than what we got
