Boss: of course. its a steakhouse so i'm drinking whiskey. am i supposed to drive home drunk for an hour? Boss: .... get a hotel? is the company paying? are you paying for me missing work the next day? Our office does their Christmas party and a downtown bar on a Saturday. Sure there are some people are like "I don't want to do weekend work stuff" but the rest of us just enjoy the nice catered in food and the 4 hours of open bar. When the party ends everyone is already in the entertainment district which make staying out easier.
