Played through the first KOTOR many years ago and loved it, dunno what took me so long to get around to the second one. I am using the restored content mod, how much did it actually restore and why was it cut in the first place?

Its a good game, had the potential to be even better than the first, but even with the restored content it felt incredibly rushed to me.

iirc the restored content mod just added a planet where HK-47 settles his beef with the 50's. It ranged from playable to kinda glorious at the end.
KOTOR 1 and 2 are totally different moods, I bet most folks play them with some time in between.

I preferred 2 despite the incomplete storyline. The gameplay mechanics were a lot better.

Atton, Kreia, both very annoying, the intro level, also very annoying, and it didn't give me a lightsaber before the first planet select, which communicated to me that:

A. I missed picking it up.
B. It was on one of those planets and I was going to end up choosing that one last
C. It was after the (first round of?) planet select planets were all complete.

None of which were favorable options.

i dont really like any of the characters in KOTOR2

i think that's my biggest beef with the game. all the characters aren't charismatic, imo.

I actually liked most of the characters in 2 better. The characters in the 1st just felt like generic hero archetypes. Except Jolee Bindo, I did love that guy.

Kreia and Atton were fantastic, I felt.

I.. honestly can't say I remember anything about the Disciple though.

Only character 8 remember from 1 is mission and Bastia. I liked everyone in 2 aside from Bao-Dur. Thought his arm was weird and I never went darkside with him.

That's not what happened though. Publisher forced the developer to put it out early because they wanted the holiday sales. Think the developers wanted another year to work on it but a movie was coming out maybe? Forget the year it actually dropped tbh but the money people insisted the game be shipped as is.
