Can anyone speak for these and if they work or just a hyped trend?

Walmart has one at a great price for Black Friday sales & I'm contemplating it, as I live in the Midwest and Winter is coming:

I got my daughter one, she doesn't like it because it's too heavy.

I like it tho, its warm and comfy.

$50 for 20lbs is an outrageously good deal, I paid around $80 for my 12 pounder and that was with a Bed, Bath, and Beyond 20% off coupon. I'm not entirely sure what they're supposed to do, but I know that I find the sensation a lot more comfortable than my traditional comforter. I also am able to just use the one blanket most nights even though it's pretty thin and I leave my window open even when it's like 10 degrees (f) or less.

I might seriously pick this up as well, thanks for sharing the deal.

I thought those were used to calm down hyper focused people? They are trending now?
