I feel like those games were just physics tech demo's with a really shitty story tacked on.

This game takes a lot of inspiration from truly great games and pays homage well, and the story is quite interesting.

Yep yep. Lots of games lately I can only play in spurts but this game is the first in a while where I really look forward to continuing. Cal isn't the most compelling protag but other than that and the cosmetics I don't have much complaints.

No. I legit seen a lot of negative shit on Reddit that basically amounted for people wanting this game to fail.

And even if it is an "EA" thing, it just goes to show you how dismissive people are to wish ill to truly great games by really good developers, just because theyre under the EA banner.

I dig the fact that you have a dorky redhead as a protagonist. I've seen comments saying how bland and boring he is but IMHO it's actually interesting that you literally never see a protagonist like this in anything. It's worth taking note of I think

That planet is about where the game really drew me in, great mission, a lot of good enemies.

This also, I agree completely. People backlashed and spoke out, EA listened and did exactly what everyone was asking for with this game. Boycotting them still is shitty.

Getting thrown a bone hardly makes up for all of EA's "mistakes" imo. I'm not that easily manipulated. But buy the game and enjoy it. I'm not saying you shouldn't, but you're barking up the wrong tree. If EA never publishes another good star wars game ever again I wouldn't give a shit.

Nobody is saying they've made up for it. However, "vote with your wallet" goes both ways, and means when a company with past issues does good, you should support them. Continuing to boycott them at this point is bad form.

I believe in rewarding good behavior, so I bought this game day one and have been enjoying it ever since. It's awesome to feel validated, I wanted this game to be good so much and it feels good knowing that it is.

This game having success is EA's nightmare. EA dove in head first into the multiplayer, microtransaction, loot box era this generation at the expense of single player games without all of that shit.

Big ups to Respawn by sticking to their vision for this game and not letting EA taint it. I bought Fallen Order when it launched but I haven't played it yet because I'm still on Death Stranding. I want to support developers like Respawn and CD Project Red.

I 100% guarantee Respawn didn't refuse anything because Respawn doesn't have the power to refuse anything, given EA owns them. If anything, it's a case of EA talking about microtransactions, Respawn reasoning with them to allow a solid experience, and EA listening and giving it a chance.

On top of that, EA has not been the bastion of greed people make them out to be. Battlefront 2 was two years ago, and they've more than made good on their faults there, actually turning the game into a fantastic experience. They've done their games pass, which is an amazing deal and starting to catch on elsewhere. They've released multiple games with a solid singleplayer experience and no abusive microtransactions I the past few years, including Mirror's Edge, Titanfall 2, Unravel 1 and 2, and A Way Out. They haven't been perfect by any means, with Apex Legends having some controversy, but even there they're clearly trying to go for less predatory content(and lets be honest, as bad as its lootboxes were, they were still only cosmetic items in a free to play game). With Anthem they were clearly pushing for a new game platform that could let them monetize without hurting their consumer base, and I'd hardly put the failure of that(or Andromeda) on EA.

They've improved a ton. They still have a way to go, but they've clearly made an effort and should be acknowledged for it.

That's not gonna happen. All the money made went to the suits in the higher ups and investors. The money has all probably been spent on super yachts and high end prost *cough* models.
