It's always been a very difficult thing for me. When I was young and my parents threw one out, I would throw a fit and sit on the couch by the curb and cry and say they can't take it away. It's my couch!!

I just threw out one last night. Not nearly so emotional because this couch sucked. My dog tore it up so bad I had to get rid of it. Hopefully she doesn't do the same thing to the new one...

Neh, but there is always a period where I don't like new stuff as much as old, until I get use to it. Maybe it's subconscious

Not emotional exactly and not with couches per se, but throwing things out I've had for a long time makes me feel sentimental. things like clothes etc
