As memeable as SFV is, this all seems good. Gill looks fun, and the CE is an interesting deal.

I haven't played SFV since a bit before Ibuki's release, and I've considered hopping back in a few times, but it has just been a bit too daunting with how many characters there are. $30 to get everyone I missed + almost all of the costumes/stages isn't a bad deal at all, and I may just snag it.

Fuck SFV.

It's so soul-less. It's nice to have a storyline in a fighting game. it's nice to have character bios and endings. I want to know who the fuck I am playing as.

SF5 had some pretty cool characters that fucking lazy and greedy capcom never bothered giving a bio, background or personality too, like that dude that dresses and speaks like Abe Lincoln.

Now they bring back Gill, which breaks the purpose of SFV and the little storyline it had e.g. the hot russian blonde chick preparing things for his return in SF III, Urien laying the land for his bro's return, etc) . They might as well bring baby Ryu, old woman Sakura and Akuma's grandpa as characters, since the storyline be damned and time-space conflicts don't fucking matter. Make Guile 95 years old, Chun Li 19 and M. Bison a good guy too, and give sagat 2 eyes and put his chest scar in R. Mika, fuck it all.

They put yun in a port of alpha 3 before. So not the first time. Plus the ending make it clear gill is around hes just not in the spotlight

Also did you complain about Q? I believe him and G have some relation as both are characters with very little backstory and seem to be shrouded in mystery. Add to that similar height moveset and some similarities (note some but not a lot) in attire. The one opposite being one talks a lot the other not so much and one wears a mask and the other doesnt.

This game gives about as much backstory to new characters as any of the old games did. I mean all i know about Remy based on thirdstrike is he hates his father whonis a warrior and he has a sister frozen under water for some odd reason.

Yeah it started going to shit in SFA2 or SFA3.

Compare to Ryu:

"He was a child, he was abandoned, he was picked up by Gouken, who taught him the art of Karate*. He trained with Ken and when they were ready Ken went back to the US to compete in the US Karate championship (which he won) while Ryu went to the SF1 tournament.

There Ryu won a narrow victory against Sagat*, therefore becoming the champion. He is cool and calculating and has no friends or family, he only lives for the fight"

*This is the version up to SF2, in SFA2 capcom retconned him from karate dude who beat sagat to cheating whiny scumbag trained in a made up art called ansatsuken who cheap shot sagat after he had lost.

To be fair, Nintendo hasn't been trying to contrive ways to monetize games beyond the initial purchase as vehemently as Capcom has.

I think the straw that broke the camel's back on that front was SFxT. Loading the game with every character from the off but locking them off until such time as THEY deemed YOU would PAY to use them is pretty messed up.

Where is this from? A manual cause i recall no games outside collections that had bios. Ive sadly never had a manual to a SF game except maybe 4 if it came with one
