Went 2-2 to get 4th, the 3 people who placed above me are just better than me (though I took games in friendlies)

Well the guy who got 3rd is probably on my level, but I just don't know how to fight Banjo well. His projectiles are pretty good and his side b always catches me when I'm throwing out aerials

GGs. Jigglypuff off stage is a nightmare for Isabelle lmao. You're pretty good at getting some of those rest confirms.

Ggs man, I have a decent amount of experience against Isabelle & Villager but Isabelle's fishing rod always gets me. Even though their recovery is good it's pretty easy to gimp. Villager at least has the side b mix up, I guess with Isabelle you have to up B. Though going under the stage as you started to at the end is a good mix up (though obviously only possible on stages like Smashville)

Yeah villager has his side b for versatility. Isabelle's recovery goes far but it's super slow. Plus she's slow in the air and ground and she's a lightweight. She's super vulnerable off stage, especially against characters who are good at edgeguarding. She also has her rod as well but that can also be intercepted.

Also I forgot to ask but how do you feel about Puff's buffs? I know hungrybox is very optimistic about Puff's future and some have said it makes jigglypuff a high tier but I know next to nothing about her.

I think her down air is insane now, not even just because it combos to rest. I gotta learn how to space it better so I don't land in front of my opponent and get forward smashed or something (happened to me a lot with you yesterday), but it's a great neutral tool. It combos into different things depending on the situation (grab, another aerial, or rest) and it often shield pokes, especially if you already hit their shield with pound.

Speaking of pound, I find it very difficult to set up the rest combo with it, especially since it's so percent and DI dependent, imo it's far, far less reliable than dair to rest. But the power in that is in the threat, because upair > uptilt > upair is true on basically every character and puts the opponent at around 30%, which is when pound to rest is true on di in or no di. So it's a situational 0 to death combo which is nice to threaten.

Rollout is a real move now which makes me happy, I also just like to use it to snap to ledge with it's significantly faster charge time. And I'm sure the decreased airdodge vulnerability helps in ways I can't easily perceive. I feel more inclined to use it to escape combos at least

Her forward throw buff is right behind the dair buff in terms of usefulness imo. Before Puff had no good throws, but not only is this throw good, it sets up so many edgeguard situations that weren't possible before. Plus I think it sets up tech chase scenarios on stage sometimes

I think Puff's main strengths are still- and will always be- her aerial and off-stage presense. People say she's high-tier now thanks to pound and rest setups, but I don't think she was ever bad.

depends on who you play. Characters with bad recoveries are going to suffer the most against her off-stage. Most high/top tiers have pretty good recoveries.

I think it's mostly just that she has actual kill confirms now, besides the fact she got quality of life changes like buffed airdodge and easier edgeguard set ups with f throw. I can't think of anything she had before besides jablock sing rest or platform techchase rest (which isn't a real confirm). Dair to rest being a thing is a big deal

Edit: Well she did always have fair to rest but that requires the opponent to DI in
