It's when and where you try to discern information from a subject so you ask them 3 questions, first 2 being ones that you don't care about/already know the answer to and the third being the one you're interested in.

The process makes it so they answer with the first thing that comes to their mind so there's no time to lie. It works pretty well. I just need to get the papers results next week to confirm if the method yielded successful results or not.
