The way I see it, Pokemon mostly improves on an established formula and is receiving relatively consistent, safe scores. Death Stranding is a weird, interesting, hot mess and has wildly varying scores to match it. That doesn't necessarily mean that everyone should play Pokemon and skip Death Stranding-- it just means that your experience with Death Stranding is likely to have some ups and downs. If you're the type of gamer who can tolerate moments of jank and forgive some stretches of boredom, then Death Stranding is worth checking out for the parts that are wholly unique.
