because sonic doesn't have weirdly shaped eyes now. he looks more like sonic.

I mean, the editing is infinitely better than the original trailer and the jokes actually land this time. Doesn't entirely hide how absolutely garbage the movie is, but it does look better than the dumpster fire it originally did.
