yes i phrased that correctly. it's not even a game... or games, anymore. it's like a way of life. like a thing. it's a thing. a phenomenon.

21 years man, and i'm only 27. my 6th birthday is one of my earliest memories. losing my shit over getting my green gameboy color and pokemon blue. to be able to say i've spent 21 years doing anything consistently besides pissing myself is weird and cool. kind of like pissing myself.

Yeah, I've been into Pokemon for over 2/3's of my life, starting with its North American launch in 1998.

Gen 8 may be when I finally call it quits.

I remember seeing Pokemon all around school, but I really got into it at 13. I remember some employee at some store talking about how they got in the new Pokemon Crystal game early.

I begged and begged my mom for it, and somehow I actually got it. Been into Pokemon ever sense. I'm 31 now.

....Though I'm not sure if I'll get Pokemon Sword and Shield. Missing so many Pokemon doesn't sit well with me. I also don't like how I got Pokemon Sun and Moon and not even a full year later they released an updated and better version in Ultra Sun and Moon that made me feel like I wasted my money.

At least Black and White 2 was an actual sequel, that looked and felt like a different game. Not to mention Black and White themselves were solid games. Where as Sun and Moon felt rushed....

So I guess I'll wait and see if they release a "full" version of Sword and Shield. Or at least a Gen 4 remake.
