Going a step further by allowing them to switch out when needed and not try to confuse you again after you are already confused would help as well. The streamer is using nothing but their starter and yet the whole team is almost level 20 after a few hours of play. The streamer's team significantly outlevels every single trainer they face, including named antagonists. The games look about as easy as they ever have. The same post also had a comment which confirms that catching Pokemon is badge related. In Persona this is more of a level check than an attempt at balance. Oh wow, Personas in this area are too strong for me to recruit.
