This puppy is a menace to society lmao he's just a huge troublemaker and is always antagonizing the cats

so i put out their food and Teddy decides to grab one cat's bowl and dump all the food on the living room floor

so i go to clean it up and my cat maxie jumps on the counter and knocks a cup over causing Teddy to run and knock over the dish of food again ;-;

aaaand as i type my cat peach is vomiting. great. walk over to clean it and the puppy runs over and starts eating it.

they're all fucking wild dude

In a situation like that, you need to make sure the cats can get away from the puppy. Maybe even a little room separation every now and then. Especially during feeding times.

Its a lot of work but can be very rewarding.

the cats have space to get away from him because we have the hallway and their rooms blocked off from the puppy. they have the option to have half the house just for them but they decide to sit in the living room and dining room and fight each other or get bit on the butt by the puppy. when they want to get away from him they'll run and jump over the gates for a few minutes.

they seem to both understand he's just a baby because they treat him delicately when he's rough with them. like he bit one of them on their butt really hard yesterday and she defended herself in a "hey don't do that again" kind of way.

Yeah. Animals know when one is young. My dogs were always careful with my kitten when I first brought her home...

That sounds like its working well. Still might want to make sure the puppy is fed separately or the cats are fed in a way the puppy cant interfer.

That's true. I put my cat food in a place where the dogs can't mess with it. And it works fine. If it were on the floor, they would eat it all...

The cat tends to stay away from their food, though...

Ive got 5 birds. Its like having a bunch of flying toddlers. Theyre noisy and messy, but I love them so whatever. Unlike toddlers, its legal to put them in cages :P
