I've been listening to the OST a lot lately. Slightly miffed that Rocket Player and last.fm only sometimes work, and a lot of the scrobbles got missed.

Also: neither baked nor fried, but the Steam version. I've only played the SNES cart and GBA port before.

Is that version based on the DS remake?

I just remembered: while I was at Whole Foods scooping up some chicken wings earlier today, the chocobo music came on. Felt kinda awkward.

ffiv PSP is 2d like FFVI's updated graphic on android/iOS/steam.
it also comes with the FFIV: after years iirc

Well, that was far more work than I would have liked, but I managed to clean my room enough to find my wired 360 controller. Fun times in remade classic RPGing to come.

You know, I'd also buy the FF6 remake if it wasn't so... visually distracting...

You're playing the most interesting version of the game, though not one I'd recommend for a first playthrough. It's far more difficult than the rest of the releases, and I love that.

Difficult is fine. And if it's like previous editions of the game, I imagine grinding is borderline pointless in many cases.

Well, that was a lovely intro video. A couple thoughts:

I have a hunch that the moon being in clear view was not coincidental.

Kain looks like a rejected Batman villain. That doesn't bother me, though.

I wouldn't say it's pointless. Grinding is never pointless in a Final Fantasy game. What matters more this time are the tactics you use.

To be fair, it's hard to see what Namingway is supposed to be on the SNES version. Also, there's a whole Namingway quest line.

I couldn't get used to FFs getting rid of overworld maps, and now I can't get myself to go back to them without thinking about how much the characters are traveling through on foot that we don't know about

FFIV Steam is a port of FFIV DS, which was so hard that the DS difficulty is now hard mode, as Steam added a normal mode.

No. The Steam version of the game has the Nintendo DS graphics.

Don't you just love those heroic jrpg protagonists who start the game off by slaughtering pacifists and then burning a village to the ground?
