Back in high school - for reasons I'm not sure of - a gay student punched another student and legit knocked him out.

The parents of the student who was knocked out learned he was knocked out, but didn't know anything about the circumstances. When asked, he told them he'd fallen down and been knocked out by the fall.

So, they took him in for brain exam after brain exam thereafter, all inconclusive and burning lots of money in the process, all because he was too proud to admit he got knocked the **** out by a gay guy.

The unfortunate part about responding with violence is that nothing tends to change, it just stops the specific incident.

But you know, sometimes that's all you really need in the moment, and it's called a last resort for a reason. I don't know anything about what's happened before this, so I can't tell that kid it wasn't a last resort kind of situation.

damn, you're right. the gay kid should have definitely asked the other kid what he wanted, offered to make him lunch or maybe buy him a drink so they could bond over their shared adolescent experiences together after school.
