People are getting immediately and irreversibly banned for using a bunch of emotes when the guidelines state you SHOULD be getting a warning first. Even if they're encouraged as part of the livestream.

Why Youtube is doing this for spamming of all things when people post much more questionable shit and get a free pass on it, I have no idea.

I don't think people should be banned, but the entire "I'm going to spam walls of emotes" shit that goes on in most popular stream chats is the worst. But yeah, it should be up to the creators to manage that or have tools to manage that.

Yeah, agreed. Spamming is annoying but I don't think it should be ban-worthy by Youtube itself. There's much worse shit they should focus on. Like child porn videos and copyright infringements.

Holy hell, their entire google account is getting locked, and repeal denied. Having a chat spam emotes like that (to decide something for the streamer), is pretty common among streamers with large communities.

Big RIP to anyone who used an emote and had their entire google account locked.

The spam was initiated by Markiplier, he had asked chat to spam either emote 1 or 2 to decide something for him

I don't really watch Markiplier anymore but I feel for him on this, god forbid someone who used the emotes in his chat had that account linked to something they actually need.

"Hey boss sorry I can't access my email because I was in the Markiplier stream last night."

Those nerds that spam chats with emojis or HYPE 10000 times deserve a ban.

Nice

For real though that shit is annoying but I don't watch streams or anything so whatever. It's pretty fucked up that entire google accounts are disabled though. How does being obnoxious warrant a google account being locked

No one was being obnoxious, they were spamming at request of the streamer Jesus who actually watched the video

UPDATE:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mhb4CvOtEeo

In short, everything is getting fixed and people are getting their accounts back. Youtube team admitted they fucked up and the appeals weren't supposed to be rejected. Head of content supervisor on Youtube even contacted Mark and said she'd do everything in her power to make sure this doesn't happen again.
