If Im making a table top out of 3 boards. Do I need to use pegs between them or can I just use wood glue and call it a day?

Whats the purpose of the pegs anyway?

I don't know your exact blueprint, but the function of pegs is to increase stability and to guarantee your structure remains flush while the glue dries.

edit: It also depends on the weight being supported. For example, in model making sometimes large flat surfaces are custom modded to have pins since glue alone cannot support the weight.

Its just going to hold up my PC monitor.

I can also use sandwich boards and clamp the boards down while simultaneously glueing and clamping then across, no?
