Absolutely ridiculous. The worst filler I have ever seen in a game.

Excellent. They represent hundreds of hours of gaming. You can't say the game is bad value for money.

I'm basically okay with them. They can be fun, but then again, if a gamer wants to stop, he stops.

I have to agree with the first option. Crazy. 900 of those things. I got maybe 150, and was pretty bored.

The korok seeds did fill like a filler prize but I actually had more fun figuring out the puzzles.

I thought it was a nice touch. Considering they didn't even have to be in the game, I'm pretty glad they took the time to add them.

Also, it was cool to have a nod to Wind Waker in the game.

They probably did it that way so that regardless of how people play the game, they will always come across some

900 is still a stupid high number though

This. The idea is you can find the amount you need to expand your inventory regardless of the path taken in the game. It's smart design tbh

I thought they were great. The incremental rewards for finding them were downright essential to gameplay, and by setting such an absurdly high number of them to be found (and with no worthwhile reward for finding more than roughly a third of them), it ensured that you could get as many as you needed merely by exploring and finding them at your own pace.

Of course the hyper-obsessive collectors didn't understand this, and pretty much got exactly what they deserved. I myself am a pretty obsessive collector, but even though BotW is one of my favorite games, I never plan on finding all 900, or even any more seeds than what I stumble upon naturally.

They intentionally filled Hyrule with excessive koroks specifically so that you don't have to hunt every single one of them.

Anybody who feels they have to get all of them is just being excessive and that's why they didn't give anything important to people who do get all of them.

You dont even need to find a lot of them to have a decent amount of inventory slots. Youre basically good to go by the time Hesto leaves to the forest.

I liked them. They were fun little distractions. Youd always end up just tripping over them on your way somewhere.

900 Korok Seeds is a perfectly reasonable number considering the sheer size of the world. There's plenty of space between individual Korok Puzzles.

And the Koroks made exploration more engaging by giving you a reason to be more thorough in how you explore the world as you travel through it, as you have to be perceptive to locate most of them. The process of noticing tons of little unusual features in the world is really fun IMO.

Why someone would feel obligated to find all the korok seeds is beyond me. They're a nice extra for taking the extra step to climb the mountain you saw at a distance, or circle around to see what lies behind a lone boulder, general rewards for checking every nook and cranny. If you need an extrinsic reward, it's effective at what it does. For those of us intrinsic explorers, people who explore for the sake of exploring, it's a nice gesture but not all that necessary.

My issue with BoW is the rewards for exploration were just not rewarding at all. Break strong weapons to get other breakable strong weapons. Korok Seeds stopped being rewarding pretty fast. You don't need many to have enough inventory slots and it's just one of those things you have trouble viewing as a reward.

Guys have already answered this, it wasn't made to be 100% completed

Not gonna bother searching for the interview but they said that's because they didn't want players to get comfortable with one weapon and experiment with all of them. They did make the weapons far too fragile though

That's not a problem in and if itself though for what I am saying here. It's that the nature of that system makes a weapon reward not very rewarding. You likely broke equally good weapons in the process of getting that. Near the end of the game my house was stocked with all the best weapons in case I ever truly ran out. But it was always annoying knowing these trophies were ultimately temporary.

I think they're great. Makes it so that every nook and cranny is worth exploring and especially if you're a completionist.
