It would seem that its not so much as "protecting" the average person from state income taxes in the future, rather protecting businesses. But I could be reading it wrong.

Where are you getting anything about businesses in that description? To me it just seems like they increased the number of legislators needed to vote yes on income tax hikes to individuals

They struck out a lot of stuff. They also changed listing people and corporations to "individuals"


I had just the opposite take from that.


On May 27, 2019, the legislature passed a bill, which the governor signed, that defined individuals as a natural person and excluded partnerships, corporations, banks, and other legal entities.
