I'm the original pokemon blue player but I always gave them the benefit of the doubt that their gameplay hardly improved because of handhelds. TheGoldenEel 11/05/19 9:22:53 AM #21:	I am not okay with that, on principal I dont try to complete the dex so fundamentally it wouldnt affect my experience, but for them to have cut more than half of all pokemon in a game that does not look notably better than the previous game is just lazy a good developer would have taken more time on this game, and given players what they wanted. If the new Sword and Shield looked like Nintendo's other AAA games (BotW, Odyssey) then I could maybe have understood why from a development perspective they didn't have time to remodel and animate 800 Pokemon (even if they made a big to-do about all their Sun/Moon models being future-proofed). But the game still looks super basic. It could absolutely have come out on the WiiU. So I'm not buying any of there "please understand" bullshit. If your development team doesn't have the manpower to make the game with all the Pokemon and look like the main console debut that people have been waiting for, then hire more people. Pokemon is the biggest media franchise of all time. You have the money. All that being said, the list of cut Pokemon is oddly comforting. I was really expecting them to have trimmed out like 200-300, less notable Pokemon and have the franchise move on forever. The fact that they cut out so many and that there a so many notable Pokemon not included, implies that whatever Game Freak says, they are planning on adding them back it. They haven't had a "National Dex" in a while, but you could always bring over Pokmon that weren't able to be caught in the versions. Now there's really no National Dex in that if they're not already in the game, you can't bring them in. IMO, cutting more than 50% of the Pokmon is really sucky and I don't see it as ok at all. That being said, I've already caught them all and as a result, I don't care too much (but I certainly understand people that do).
