Current Events > I'm annoyed because my wife wants to fly to her moms for a couple days

It only annoys me because.... as you know all my wife doesnt work. Im the only one that works(about 80k this year) but I work fri-Monday. Ten hours each day. But Im an overtime whore because we have a brand new house, two vehicles and I want to live comfortably. So this pay period I have 50 hours of overtime. I worked overtime after fri, Sat, mon, tues, and Wednesday into Thursday morning, fri, and sat.

We have 2 huskies, a shepherd, and a cat. So now I have to figure how to work and take care of a house by himself for possibly up to a week

Did she give any thought/consideration as to how you can manage with that? It might require getting a friend or family to help as a backup to feed them if you don't make it back in time.

Nope. And we live alone out here. All of our family and friends in Chicago. I could probably get my cop buddies to do it. If I worked in the area I lived in it would be easier. I have 200 vacation hours that I havent used yet, 150 sick, 1 week personal, 1 week bonus, and 1 week professional leave. So I could probably take a week off but that would be just a waste of a week. Ive used like 160 hours already this year

But it's not nothing. Every dollar she would earn you guys could use as "bonus" income. Even if it was $200 a week that's an extra $800 fun money every month you dont have.

Also no offense but the reason she doesnt want to finish the less than a year for her bachelors is because then it would be pretty obvious she should get a job lol

Yeah she stayed all August. The paperworks filled out, but she thinks its just normal arguments and I work so much Im never even home to do it. This whole week Ive been once on a Sunday evening so it makes hard to do anything but sleep

Dude, explain this to her. Just because she is a stay at home wife doesnt mean she doesnt have responsibilities. If she tries to shit on you for bringing this up, saying you can manage the household for a week while Im gone, and explaining the overtime youll have to miss in order to accommodate the situation doesnt work, then flip the scenario and ask her how shed pay the bills if you took off work for a week or more and were going to be short on your responsibilities. And if that doesnt work, then tell her she needs to make arrangements with friends, or somebody to handle some of her responsibilities while shes gonesuch as feeding/letting your animals out while youre working your ass off to put a roof over her head and pay for her plane tickets.

Just make sure you blow off whatever steam necessary HERE before you approach her with this, otherwise she may take it the wrong way.

Probably her just being selfish, but consider what you do for her, she should realize and cut that shit out. If she really loves you and appreciates what you do she would at least reconsider.
