1.) Why isn't there a topic flair for cats?

2.) Purring is voluntary. I know this because one cat that I have will plop down on top of me (or just my arm or something), and instantly go from no purr at all, to purring LOUDLY. It's like she is communicating me through purring. Like "Hey, Chris! I want you to know that I enjoy your company, so I'm going to start purring to let you know it!"

It's something that has been pretty unique to this cat. Whereas most cats I've known will start with a subtle purr, then gradually get louder and prouder about it the longer you pet them.

Actually my other cat begins purring pretty quickly, too, when I make physical contact. But even with her, it's more like a response than a communication tool, as with the first cat I mentioned.

And I'm not saying it can't happen involuntarily. Like most genuine smiles are involuntary for humans. But we can also smile voluntarily, and I think it's the same for a cat's purr.

Ya, Purring is a real thing.
The frequency of the vibrations are said to be heeling.

Though I do think purring is simulations both voluntary and involuntarily.

Either way, it's dope!!

I heard on the radio that cats purring is for calming fellow cats and people. And people with cats has a 40% reduced risk for heart attack cuz they reduce stress hormones etc

One time I was having an episode out on the street late at night, yelling and such. A black cat came up behind me and rubbed my leg really hard with its whole body. It was cute, like it was trying to comfort me. Ill never forget it.
