Sarah Jessica Parker confirmed the great news that the Sanderson Sisters WILL be in the Hocus Pocus Sequel after Disney+ said it will be a direct sequel to the film rather than a remake!!

Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy also confirmed that they will fly again after celebrating the news on instagram

The 54 y/o couldn't resist telling the fans who have been waiting for a sequel to the classic halloween hit that has been a staple on Freeform every year and it was played over THIRTY TIMES this year!!

When one fan asked "any chance of a sequel?" Sarah responded with "Yes! We will now wait for instructions. just wait"

Collider reported last month that Workaholics writer producer, Jen D'Angelo is writing the script for Disney+ streaming services

No word if original director Kenny Ortega will return to direct as all the original cast members expressed disappointment 2 years ago that the film would be a remake rather than a sequel and refused to take part in it as Bette slammed the news and called it a shame that their legacy wouldn't continue.

The film is about a trio of witches who were killed in 1693 Salem, Massachusetts after killing a young girl while absorbing her youth. They cast a spell to be resurrected on Halloween when a virgin lights the candle to resume their soul sucking ways.

The movie was no box office hit earning just 39 million on a 28 million budget and released in a poorly timed July 1993..but since then it became a massive cult classic as the only Halloween Family film and has received a huge following where fans have begged Disney for a sequel after strong DVD and streaming sales.

It was first announced in 2017 that it would instead be a direct remake for Freeform but that never came to fruition and was going ot be scrapped until the news of a sequel came out.

Bette said she's been waiting forever for a return before she kicked the bucket and Disney finally granted her wish.

Fun fact: Hocus Pocus has no connection to the Vonnegut novel of the same name >_>

Otherwise it's kinda weird to see a sequel all this many years later, although it's seemingly had a resurgence in popularity in recent years. Meanwhile we still can't get a Gremlins 3 or a reboot.

I think when I was young, I think I thought the main guy character was cute. But I didnt know I was gay and didnt understand. That being said, I did like the movie.

I remember thinking the main girl was hot when I was younger, but never cared for the movie.

Obviously it's gear more towards kids but I watched it for the first time earlier this year and didn't really understand what the big deal was. People seemed to get offended whenever I said that I'd never seen it.
I will say that it's only movie that I've seen where Sarah Jessica Parker actually looked somewhat attractive.

I love the original movie. Had a massive crush on Vanessa Shaw (the love interest of the main character) as a kid back when it came out. Kinda surprised they're making a sequel though, especially this long after the original.

Only Halloween family film?
