Possible decision on my horizon:
A) tenure track Or B) non TT but more pay and the material is more technical/rewarding --- www.youtube.com/davetheuseless Creepypasta Channel. twitter.com/davetheuseless DaveTheUseless Loves You. ... Copied to Clipboard!

I'd take B and then try for A after, if it's college.
Anything below that school level isn't worth it in most states. --- formerly evening formerly guide https://youtu.be/Acn5IptKWQU ... Copied to Clipboard!

I'd take B and then try for A after, if it's college. It's really hard to shoot for a tenure track position from a non tenure track position, especially if the tenure track position requires research. Much easier to move in the other direction --- A very happy young man looking forward to a bright and wonderful future. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Sounds like you're leaning towards B already and want us to convince you to take A. I'm back and forth on it. Will add that the tenure-track position is with a school whose financial aid department is known for being difficult to work with, though that hasn't deterred me from considering. --- www.youtube.com/davetheuseless Creepypasta Channel. twitter.com/davetheuseless DaveTheUseless Loves You. ... In my experience, tenure track positions have become extremely difficult to get. There is a surplus of PhD grads and not enough TT positions opening up.
The same can be said for non-TT, but to a lesser degree. I'd say apply for both and evaluate them based on what you learn if you get called for interviews. --- Congratulations! Your post was deemed response-worthy. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Sounds like a good way to go.
I know contract issues pop up at 2-year colleges even for TT profs. There was a TT guy at the school I currently teach at who got tossed recently, but he was difficult to work with and should only blame himself. --- www.youtube.com/davetheuseless Creepypasta Channel. twitter.com/davetheuseless DaveTheUseless Loves You. ... Exhausted me (had to walk a bit to get to and back), but went well. Also, just found out that a bunch of applications of mine for part-time teaching submissions at another school got forwarded. Fun times.
Extra background: I've been teaching part-time for over 5 years. It's had... positive and negative aspects, but teaching is the only job for me tbqh. --- www.youtube.com/davetheuseless Creepypasta Channel. twitter.com/davetheuseless DaveTheUseless Loves You. ... Copied to Clipboard!
