Travelers reporting 45-90 minute waits for Ubers to pick them up...

Why am I not surprised that they'd f*** this up? So glad I'm not flying any time soon, so they can figure this out before I have to go to LAX

For background, LAX banned ubers and taxis from picking up or dropping people off curbside at the terminal. Instead, they pickup/dropoff outside the airport and then you shuttle into the airport. Problem is the pickup point got overwhelmed with traffic (as expected)

yeah but cabs are usually $40 or so to get where you're going while ubers are usually $20

also, under the new system even cabs aren't allowed in the roundabout... but I do hear they did better in the new system since they're alloted more spots at the pickup point

airports are such a hassle now its like that.
i think the traffic delays will pass over onto missed flights. wonder how long the airports will use remote rideshare sites their passenger uses just to fly.

I think they should ban ubers outright from airports. The idea of a specific car picking up a specific person at a high volume location like an airport is stupid. People should get in line and get the first cab and go, instead of waiting around for a specific driver

Cabs can also be unreliable as fuck. We had to take a cab to SF airport from Sac because if we took our delayed flight, we'd miss our layover flight. The asshole was going 50 MPH on the fast lane for a long while and my cousin had to yell at him to go faster or we'd miss our flight. Yeah we missed it and had to wait another hour or so IIRC. On top of that, another family was taking the cab with us that didn't know how to speak english. The cab driver dropped us off at our terminal but we were trying to tell him that the other family needed to be dropped off at another terminal. Asshole kept saying "I did this drive 100 times, no problem" and didn't take em to the proper terminal. We had to point them to the right direction to walk to

LA hasn't figured out having some of the worst traffic in the last two to three decades. What made anyone think they'd have a competent solution to airport traffic?
