I think they were cool enough, but they also seemed like a commitment to refuse to rebalance the stats of old pokemon who have been power-creeped out of relevancy, which is bad.

Well gen V did a service to some pokemon by buffing their stats a bit. and a handful of megas made many bad pokemon either viable (Beedrill, Lopunny, etc) or just OP (Mawile) --- Rainbow Dashing: "it's just star wars" AutumnEspirit: *kissu* ... i didn't like having to use one on a competitive team.
