Nah no more or less hackers than any other game. But a hacker would probably have a bigger impact, given the importance of stealth and the round based elimination

Devs definitely ban hackers

Its not uncommon to see Battleye doing its work multiple times in a game (shows people being banned for cheating/being boosted by a cheater/toxic behavior in the top right corner of the screen)

I have 1000+ hours in the game and love it even though Im not super great at it. One of the best FPS Ive played

Yes the game is tactical

The gameplay the different operators offer means you dont have to play that way if you dont want to either

For example I find myself playing support OPs like Nomad and Valkyrie more than entry fraggers/roamers like Ash and Jager.

is any of the dlc needed? thats the only thing turning me off, there the regular with no dlc, a deluxe, an ultimate, a gold pack, years 1-4, etc

is any of that needed or is it possible to earn certain things in game?

You earn renown by playing matches which can also be used to unlock the DLC OPs

In most cases the operators included in the base game are on the same level as the DLC. Smoke for example I believe is still a top tier defender because the SMG-11 is a great gun and his gas grenades are really effective at locking down objectives/punishing shield ops

The ones I recommend grinding renown for first are Mira, Valkyrie and Hibana, because they have some of the most impactful gadgets in the game

Valk and Hibana should be cheaper I think because Im pretty sure they are price cutting the earlier DLC operators

Pretty sure you can play Terrorist Hunt without a connection to the servers

In the most recent patch, they removed suicide bombers and nitro cell clusters from it, so it will be less annoying to play by yourself now

I like it, it a game that can crush your soul sometimes. A bit too hard, but i love how you can take advantage of gadgets and such
