I know it use to be common about a decade ago for creative types to heavily favor Macs (for nebulous reasons nobody could quite explain), but that trend seems to have started to falloff as PCs have brought so much more value for the money. Most things are cross platform these days too. I don't work in the industry, but I do art as a hobby and there has been a pretty strong trend of professionals and teachers you find content from switching from Mac to PC for creative stuff. If I had the money, I'd have a Mac for daily use because they are pleasant to use. But if the software you want is available on Windows and Mac, not getting a PC is just dumb, especially for that amount of money. Especially if you are talking about audio. I know it use to be common about a decade ago for creative types to heavily favor Macs (for nebulous reasons nobody could quite explain), but that trend seems to have started to falloff as PCs have brought so much more value for the money. Most things are cross platform these days too. I don't work in the industry, but I do art as a hobby and there has been a pretty strong trend of professionals and teachers you find content from switching from Mac to PC for creative stuff. If I had the money, I'd have a Mac for daily use because they are pleasant to use. But if the software you want is available on Windows and Mac, not getting a PC is just dumb, especially for that amount of money. Especially if you are talking about audio. I have a 2015 MBP 15" that I bought for about $900 earlier this year and it's glorious.
