If you take the money 30% of randomly selected animal life instanly dies forever. Meaning its possible for the entire species of dog to instantly vanish forever. With no way to ever to bring them back. Would you take the money?

Um. That would be a mass extinction level event. You cant wipe out nearly half of all life in a biosphere and not expect major fallout.

statistically speaking, most animal life is microbial

if we were dealing strictly with individual life forms i'd say it would be a worthwhile gamble

species classifications though, not so hot

Well if I can choose the animals to "die forever" then I'll choose the smallest most insignificant animals that won't leave such a void that ecosystems would collapse. What goes extinct usually has their former role filled by something else. If I can't choose then wtf. 40 percent is a huge deal and I couldn't take the money with that.

Well statistically speaking, all species lose 40% of their population. We'll be fine. The Tigers and red pandas won't but whatever
