I've heard it's the equivalent of Proud Mode in earlier games.

It's really annoying early on because a ton of shit one shots you from off screen

The first couple bosses are tough as shit (a couple of them just due to weird design). But after the first couple hours, it's basically just another game's Proud Mode, except without great crowd control options. The game gives you so many features and abilities to avoid death, it's going to be hard to die outside of a few specific fights.

Though, there is one minigame that is a nightmare on Critical and *will* frustrate the fuck out of you unless you buff yourself beforehand (and even then, it has no right to be so difficult). So watch out for that. I don't want to say much else because of spoilers.

I just went with Proud after reading a few other opinions from Google.

The last few KH games have irritated the fuck out of me anyway.
