I think it refers to the fact that people who identify as leftists talk and act in a near identical manner. Even their personalities are the same.

It depends on who you ask, but I don't think it's outlandish or a sign of brainwashing to say in general terms "the left does/supports/wants x."

Discourse could be more nuanced, but we don't have to go full galaxy brain and pretend there aren't any groupings or sides we can refer to.

I think the funny thing is i edited my post within 30 seconds to not come across as biased, as it goes both ways...but you obviously didnt see it because you opened the thread so fast and spent 3 minutes conniving some attempt at an argument.

Quite frankly, i didnt think i needed to edit my post, as the entire point was blaming one side for our countries problems (or a single problem) is ridiculous. Yet you still needed to defend your side, thus missing the entire point

I feel like the only people who say this are those who have few interactions with people of differing political opinions and truly believe in media caricatures . Pretty disturbing, really.

I'd say it's overused to the point where it becomes a cliche, even a joke.

Should I be "the left" over LGBT rights, other social issues... or should that be restricted to "literally being a communist"
