Been toying with the idea of applying and getting my foot in the door for years now. From what I know, you get great benefits and they take care of you for years. Obviously depends on the department, definitely not looking to be a cop or fireman or maintenance worker. More like something in parks & rec department or city planning. Something part-time/hourly for now and go from there.

I know some people who could refer me who work in my city's government, but I'm curious if anyone here as any experience?
