To put it another way, you're retaining water. I get the sense that you've probably only heard of this concept before via commercials for PMS remedies, but it can happen for other reasons. Your body is gonna lose a lot of electrolytes with all that water. 3 liters a day should be the max, anymore and you're setting yourself up for overhydration.
