Without eating your body is probably trying to store up as much as it can.

A liter of water is 2.2 pounds. You didn't think you pissed or sweated all that out did ya?

Doesn't water only take a few hours to go from ingesting to the bladder?

Yes, that's usually how water works, you piss out what your body doesn't need.

Your body can retain water, especially if you drink it in excess

1) Your kidneys can only process so much water per hour
2) It's very possible, as modena mentioned, that your body is trying to store as much as it can because you didn't eat anything.

your body is starving itself to hibernation status. it store fat for energy. the water kills your appetite feeling full i guess.

Your kidneys can eliminate about 5.3-7.4 gallons (20-28 liters) of water a day, but they can't get rid of more than 27-33 ounces (0.8-1.0 liters) per hour (14, 15).

6<24 so it should be ok.

That's what they're capable of. It doesn't necessarily mean they're always processing as much water as they theoretically could.

To put it another way, you're retaining water. I get the sense that you've probably only heard of this concept before via commercials for PMS remedies, but it can happen for other reasons. I don't know what you're trying to do with this "water diet" thing, but it can't be good for your endocrine system.

Maybe if you stopped being so salty, your body can maintain isotonicity with much less water.

I kid.

Your body is gonna lose a lot of electrolytes with all that water. 3 liters a day should be the max, anymore and you're setting yourself up for overhydration.

youll lose weight doing this, you just have to keep it up for a week or so

no calorie intake for a week should make you drop maybe 2kg depending how heavy you are now

that is if you dont die by then
