I plugged my dongle into my PS2 to experience some sweet sweet rock and roll nostalgia with a cheap plastic 5-button sham of a guitar. It'd been about 10 years since I've played but I can't be THAT out of practice. Oh boy was I wrong. My brain could process the notes but my fingers couldn't dance across the neck of that guitar quite like they used to. Where in 2008 I'd be blasting Through the Fire and Flames on expert I can now just barely make it through Slow Ride. So I did what any reasonable man would do. I sat up straight, gripped the guitar tightly and focused hard. And then I threw that piece of shit cheating game out the window.

Not exactly the same thing but I remember being able to beat Contra 3 on SNES very easily as a kid, on the hardest difficulty setting. Tried playing it as an adult and now I have no idea how I ever beat it as a kid.

I used to be real big into the genre, played Frets on Fire X a lot until my guitar peripherals broke on me

Years later went to an arcade with my bro and tried playing Guitar Hero 3 there and just couldn't do it

Shame they didnt make it as good as guitar hero
