Earlier this year, I went to the hospital because I felt what I thought was a lump or something in my throat. Whatever it is, they said they couldn't find anything serious and that it might be an allergic reaction. So I've been spending the past months with this very mildly annoying sensation in my throat. It would often go away and randomly come back.

But now, for about a week, it's been coming back hard, my chest would often feel tightened and various parts of my body would start aching (neck, head, arms, legs, back) for about an hour, then I would burp and feel good again temperarily, until it builds back up throughout the day. I realized this shit doesn't feel normal and looked up my symptoms and it seems to be pointing towards GERD.

How fucking convient. And of course, some of the major causes for it includes coffee intake and spicy foods, two of my favorite things. Like a disease specifically made to fuck with me.
But I don't know if this is the case for sure. I just know that I have to make another doctor's appointment which is always awesome.

Here's hoping you don't end up with dysphagia. That shit is the fucking worse and I've had to get multiple endoscopies because of it.

I didn't even know I had GERD until I went for an endoscopy this June cuz of tummy probs.

Then they casually told me I had GERD and esophagitis and put me on a PPI medication. I didn't feel any heartburn or reflux or anything until I ran out of the medication and now I'm experiencing it.

But yeah I can relate, I like spicy foods, and really miss them.

I've been getting into the habit of drinking hot salt water and lemon tea. It kind of feels like it's doing something, but not much.

You can get a pack of three omeprazole bottles at walmart for like 20 bucks. I also had GERD-pointing reflux issues starting like a year ago, but i just took a pill a day, sometimes a couple tums before bed, just in case, and now it doesn't really affect my life or diet at all. most of the time i forget about it altogether
