There's a sweet spot of absolute golden seasons, but the really old stuff is very slow and worn, and the new stuff is a bit too streamlined to have any shock. Part of the poor aging of earlier seasons is only due to how much success South Park pulled, and how that changed the landscape for TV as a whole.
