Fighting a bunch of bad guys and barely get hurt, then after the battle my characters mother jumps in front of a bullet aimed at me and gets badly hurt then later dies from it.

Its ridiculous because bullets in battle were doing very little damage to me. So she got herself killed for no reason other than a mothers love. She didnt bother doing anything during the battle when I was being shot at though.

this reminds me of wild arms 2 (major spoilers) where brad gets a bomb implanted in his neck and eventually sacrifices himself using it. he was your strongest party member so the rest of the game has its difficulty nerfed to account for it.

I hate any battle where you're supposed to lose, but at the same time the fight feels mild enough that you can win if you just employ some clever strategy and make use of buffs and healing items. Nope, lol.

They need to make all those enemies OP as shit so it's clear they're going to two-shot you or something.
