Example in a British Catholic all boys school
Some boys will be in St. Peter, some boys will be in St.Jerome, somebody will be in St. Padre Pio and some will be in St. Andrew.

Example in a British Public school
Some people will be in Blue house , Red house, White House ,Chartreuse house , Magenta house etc.

Elementary schools do that, sometimes.
That's why you had to go to a different classroom for math.

I never went to a school in Britain, or knew of one, that did this. The nearest we had was stuff associated with our class, and that was a very half hearted effort at best.
