Im not talking about the basics that everyone can cook like rice, eggs, french toast, etc. But something a bit more complex. I've cooked shrimps, chicken thighs and legs, pork chops, and salmon these past couple of weeks and its actually kind of easy. All i used was a frying pan, some seasoning, and a thermo temp. I fry both sides then simmer it for a few mins.

Im going to try some sort of soup or curry based chicken next.

Cooking is easy. But getting proper temperatures, flavors, consistency, etc can be trickier. Not everyone is a good cook

Yeah, temperature is one of the harder parts. But seasoning and taste is easy... Dont add too little or too much.

This. I can understand if somebody has trouble with substituting ingredients, or in blending flavors they enjoy to modify a recipe, but I'm always confused when I follow a recipe to the letter and people act like they couldn't do the same.

Sometimes you can get caught off guard by the timing though. Especially if you're trying to cook two or threee things at once like you might have watched an experienced cook do.

this is the hard part really, trying to line up multiple things so they all finish around the same time

it's why I mostly like cooking things that all go together in one pot/pan/tray/etc
