Does your employer use a "point system"? I noticed after NAFTA passed, a lot of US employers began moving towards a point system to penalize or fire employers for being absent. Some even give points if you're out sick and bring a doctor's note.

I hear my job might go there soon. Certain amount of points for being late. And certain amount for being absent. But I dont know how the sick thing will work. Out sick call is fucked up, anyway. The first day you call in sick, you cant use a sick day. So you wont get paid. You wil for the days after that. But if youre out for 3 days, you need a doctors note before you come back...

My former employer did and the point ceiling was 12 and after that it was automatic termination. I left because you don't have to penalize adults and I know we have people who miss work but I think it should be done on a person to person basis.

There isn't a point system, but enough unexcused absences / being late and you could be fired.
