Getting sick of not only the hot CA weather, but just the cost of living here in general and politicians raising the taxes up the ass of the hard working middle-upper class folks just so "they can provide housing for the elderly and the homeless". How about trying to figure out how to lower the cost of living here in general instead of throwing more money at building more OVERPRICED homes and other pointless development projects?
I was thinking of NY because I didn't see any other race and culturally diversed states like CA that's near the ocean. Plus I prefer cold weather but have never been in a snowy climate before. But other than that I dunno what the culture is really like. My job permits me to transfer as we have lots of offices in populated US cities. I looked at the housing costs in NYC and they literally cost as much as a suburban CA home or outer city home prices but nowhere near SF prices except for those nice penthouses. Lmao at leaving Cali due to housing prices only to go to NY. You're going from the frying pan into the fire.
Also Cali has women, weed, and weather. Are you prepared to lose two of those things? --- "This is your last dance." ... Copied to Clipboard!

If those are the reasons you hate california, you won't like NYC any better.
Why not move up to the seattle area? You get cooler weather, lower cost of living (albeit still high), and a diverse city since that's a main concern for you. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

Suck it up and move to flyover territory if cost of living is your sticking point. Or, some cities on the border are super cheap.

Everything you dislike about CA is worse in NY, plus snow is not enjoyable as an adult. Would probably be a bad move based on your reasoning.

Where in NY do you want to move? Cost of living is actually very good in NY, unless you move to NYC Any place near NYC since the corporate office is located there. I was looking at home prices in Brooklyn and Bronx and they're below average compared to the suburban CA homes here but definitely affordable. Then maybe in the future id like to get my own suburban home in NY. People mentioned Rochester as a good place to check for nice homes under $100K. --- LA Clippers fan since 2019 https://i.imgtc.ws/UOwpJCI.jpg ... Copied to Clipboard!
