Who would not exist without the work that has been done by 1st and 2nd wave feminists.

Are you just looking for permission to shit on 3rd wave feminists? That's not something I'm in a position to allow or disallow, so don't think I'm forcing you to stop, outside of a general plea to not be an asshole.

The point I'm making is that topics like these appear to complain that "someone else isn't fixing my problems" and my response is that it's not meant to be an easy fix. It's going to be a struggle. One might face ridicule and scorn over it, but if your motivation is ultimately beneficial and just, you can bear those slings and arrows as you work towards you goal.

Using the perspective that modern feminists are ineffectual compared to the historical feminists is ultimately a distraction. Arguing what they're doing right or wrong doesn't lead towards a solution of the issues that men face.

It may actually require men to stand up and be heard.

Just make sure the issues and motivations are just.

Of course not.

I don't need permission to do that. And neither do 2nd wave feminists alive today who feel the same way and also criticize any attempt to use feminism as a mask for discriminatory pushes of policy towards only men. anyone you see making this talking point is just regurgitating it from hearing on reddit or somewhere else in the anti-feminist wheelhouse that told them "3rd wave feminism=bad cus it the one what want to take your bideo games". If you actually asked them to give a list of feminist scholars that could be categorized into 1st 2nd or 3rd wave feminism respectively, you'd be hard pressed to find one that could list more than a handful of names, though you can bet with about 100% certainty Anita Sarkeesian would be one of them.

I think feminism is great, its just that there are so many terrible feminists around, it kinda messed up the reputation of the movement in the public eye.

There is nothing inherently wrong with the idea of feminism, but it's currently an extremely fractured ideology. The loudest are unfortunately the cultists who can do nothing but parrot false narratives and attack imaginary concepts.

If you want results, it absolutely not a distraction. It's criticism to be reflected on so that the movement can make changes to the direction to make progress.
