UnfairRepresent 10/19/19 2:26:57 PM #1:	A LESBIAN couple claim they were told to "tone down" their kissing and cuddling in a Wetherspoon pub after a customer complained. Hannah Clifford and Leoni Malbon-Baker said they left the bar in tears after a waitress told them someone had reported them for "snogging each other's faces off". The graduates, both 21, had met for lunch at the pub chain's Coronet in Islington, North London on Wenesday. They said they shared a kiss because they hadn't seen each other for a while, reports the Evening Standard. But after ordering drinks, they claim the waitress informed them a complaint had been about "intimate, inappropriate touching". They said they were asked to "tone it down" before deciding to leave the pub feeling "vulnerable and embarrassed". Hannah told the publication that as they left the bar, three men, who they suspected to be the complainants, made sexual gestures at them and shouted: "Bye darlings." She said: "When I got outside I burst into tears. I was more upset than angry. "I had my arm around Leoni and had given her a cuddle and a kiss when we arrived because we hadn't seen each other all day. But it was nothing raunchy because we were in public. "I had my arm around her when the lady came up to us and gave us our drinks and said she didn't mean any offence, but someone had complained about us 'snogging each other's faces off' and said could you please 'tone it down'." Hannah explained: "I turned to the lady and asked how she could ask us to tone it down for cuddling but could allow them to make sexual gestures towards us?" The two women said they returned to the pub with a friend to lodge a complaint with the manager. They say the manager offered them a free breakfast, which they declined. Although regular customers, Hannah and Leoni have vowed not to return as they now feel uncomfortable and "unsafe". Eddie Gershon spokesman for JD Wetherspoon said the matter would be investigated. He added: "A member of staff asked the couple to stop because they had received complaints from customers saying there was intimate, inappropriate touching under the table.
