Because they were brought up to have faith in their religion and therefore employ a confirmation bias to disregard anything that threatens the idea that they might be wrong.

Religious people do believe in aliens, they just call them demons, fallen angels, Nephilim, deceivers, etc.

At least that's been my experience when talking to religious types.
