Good. We have nando's already, we don't need a place that actively supports inhumane treatment of the LGBT+ community.

I might not know what nando's is, but I definitely agree with the latter..

Typically in topics like these you've got people saying "well the chicken sandwiches from this place are better anyways" yet all that means is they're still supporting another corporation and they're still eating chicken and other meats.

Listen, I don't look down on anyone for eating meat. You're free to eat whatever you want wherever you want. It's your life, your body, your money. My issue is with attitude that some take on. When they look down on others for partaking, think of themselves as some kind of paragon, and harass others to eat or not eat something from somewhere is when I get upset because the aforementioned hypocrisy.

This implies that everyone views meat eating as an ethical debate.

Moreso I was getting at the ethical treatment of animals raised for slaughter. The conditions they're in and how they're raised. I don't really want to get into the ethics of eating meat. I care more about the animals treatment up to that point.

Way not to read anything. You can protest what you. Just don't be a dick about it. You're not a better person for simply spending your money elsewhere. Also you can do what I do. My phone was assembled in Japan. I see to it that most electronics I get aren't assembled in China. I also drive a hybrid. It's not that expensive. Only cost like 2 grand more than the gas model.

But you don't have to do anything. It's your money. Spend it where you like. Just don't look down on others for doing the same.

Sorry that some people don't want a company that supports conversion therapy (a practise considered torture by any civilised person)

I'm sorry. How exactly is willfully going through conversion therapy torture, but willfully mutilating yourself not.

haha he thinks conversion therapy is willing

Given that Mike Pence was criticized as late as 2016 for wanting to fund conversion therapy for people that wanted to under go it. I find your lack of awareness pitiful.

How does telling me that Mike Pence got criticized for wanting to fund willful conversion therapy prove that conversion therapy is willful?

And as I asked the troll, should "doctors" and "therapists" just be able to do whatever they want to people as long as they convince someone to want it? Never mind science, ethics or medical efficacy? Is medicine in the eye of the beholder?

What the fuck are you going on about, funding conversion therapy for people that want to undergo it is about as much torture as going into a brothel specializing in BDSM.

And if a gay man wants to try it no matter if it works or it doesn't, that's his choice, not some idiots that go around harassing a place that serves delicious chicken 6 days a week.

But willful isn't always so clear when it comes to conversion therapy. Should the choice exist anyway? Should quacks be able to offer help regardless of how useless or damaging it could be, as long as they can find people to pay for it? Is it ethical for the choice to be available in the first place?

As someone who is about to be same-sex married, I honestly don't care what one executive of a company thinks about it.

Corporations so often actively engage in truly awful things, and to stand up for this but not the shit that tech and clothing companies get away with reeks of questionable moral sincerity.

And seriously, Salvation Army does truly incredible charity work. Yeah their founders were anti-gay-marriage.

So was Obama.

I was saying that people going "but you still support child labor by buying Apple!" is silly. Neither the protester nor the critic is likely to support child labor or other such rotten practices, so what does pointing out the hypocrisy actually accomplish? "I hate it too but at least I protest none of it rather than some of it!"

Much like how the people shopping at chic fil a don't actively support homophobic practices and it's just as silly to think otherwise. In which case pointing out the hypocrisy isn't all that pointless because some people need a reality check and to be knocked off their high horse.

Yeah, you are, dude. Are you kidding me? It's literally enabling.

Let's say the Nazis needed money to fund their weapons that they'll use to kill people. If you give them money for services/goods they provide and they take that money and buy weapons with it, you're enabling it.

You are not a bad person for eating at Chic Fil A nor are you a bad person for buying smartphones or gas. And most importantly, abstaining from these things does not make you a better person. People are free to spend their money however they like, and harassing them for doing so doesn't make you a good person either. This is the important thing to take away. Not buying a chicken sandwich or iPhone doesn't make you special, so don't act like it does.
